FAQ

By now, you have seen so many sites that all say the same thing: “High Quality”, “Professional Video”, “affordable prices”.  Yes, everyone uses the same language and you are left wondering what distinguishes one agency from another.  You have a lot of questions!  Below are some of the more Frequently Asked Questions we receive.

Q: How much does a corporate video  cost?

A: Every video production is different, therefore the cost of every video varies. Be wary of agencies that offer flat-rate pricing for complete videos.  Please send us as detailed a breakdown as possible, and we will put together some options for you to consider.  For ease, you can use our Request a Quote page.

Q: What makes Marinelli Media any different than the competition?

A: Experience.  Experience drives every decision we make, and that’s the largest benefit you can give your clients.  Many is a time we have saved our clients money and headaches by foreseeing potential problems, and solving existing ones.  Video Production covers such a wide range of creative and technical challenges – even legal challenges!  We take care of our clients and we will take care of you so you can rest assured.

Q: I am going to web, so using an iPhone or smartphone should be fine, right?

A: Wrong.  While smartphones have come a long way and deliver some excellent results in perfect conditions, we rarely have perfect conditions.  Smartphones lack the lens quality, and compression quality our broadcast quality, 4K cameras have.  Furthermore, they lack the audio capabilities required for good, clean sound.

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

A: The techies always ask this one.  We use broadcast quality, HD and 4K cameras from Sony and Panasonic.  For sound, we use wireless lapel and shotgun mics from Sennheiser.  Lighting is entirely LED which is dimmable (without changing color temperature) uses low power (even runs on battery) and keeps everyone on-set cool.  We also come with a range of moving cameras such as gimbals, sliders, jibs and yes – 4k drones! We have teleprompters, monitors, and video recorders and number of odds and ends which attach to any or all of the above to make them even better.  We can even show up ready to edit for same-day edits ( SDE’s) should your project require it.  Our extensive experience in broadcast allows us to ensure everything we shoot can be broadcast on television and beyond.

Q: How fast can you turn a video production around?

A: The delivery time depends on a number of factors.  Every video production is different.  That being said, you will generally be able to view time-coded, raw footage for review with 1-2 business days if required.  We generally do this with interviews so that you can tell us what content you want, and don’t want, included.  Once your feedback is received we can begin work on video editing.  Along the way, we will send you stage video edits so that you can track progress until a final edit is complete.  If your job requires immediate turnaround (i.e. news release or time sensitive material) we can do that too!  Our extensive experience shooting for Canadian Press, and preparing media releases for same, or next day delivery has provided us with a workflow to achieve fast turnaround.  More often than not, we are pushing the delivery schedule to keep your content fresh and relevant for as long as possible.

Q: Can you incorporate photos, logos or animations into my corporate video?

A: Yes, we can.  For photos and logos, provide us with the highest resolution possible in just about any graphic format (.jpg, .png, .ai, .psd are all good).  If you have existing animations we can use those as well, or, we can have custom animations created to spec.  We create everything in, at the very least, HD which uses a frame size of 1920 x 1080.  So images must be large enough that they do not degrade if we have to re-size them.

Q: Why is the text on your website so repetitive (i.e. corporate video, and video production are used a lot!)

A: Yes, we know it sounds unnatural. Unfortunately, we are forced to balance the content quality of our website with content for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) so that search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo will list us higher in their rankings.  Using terms like Corporate Video Production, and Video Production as well as Video Editing allow the search engines to track usage of these keywords and list us higher (hopefully) when users search for terms like Corporate Video Production and Videography….we think you get the picture 🙂  Thanks for your patience and understanding.
